Car

Travelling by car Woodstock is 8 miles north of Oxford on the A44 and 60 mins west of London via the M40, the A34 and the A44. Look out for brown signs for Blenheim Palace.

Air

Most commercial flights arrive in the UK at Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton or Birmingham.

Heathrow, Gatwick & Luton have frequent coach services to Oxford.

Birmingham International railway station, next to the airport, has a direct train to Oxford. Heathrow and Gatwick have trains but you have to change in London for a further service to Oxford.

From Oxford, you can pick up a taxi or catch a local bus, S3, from either the railway station or Gloucester Green bus station.

Rail

Main Railway Station

Oxford provides the principal connections to/from London (Paddington), Bournemouth, Hereford & Worcester, Birmingham, Manchester & further north operated by various rail companies.

To/from London Marylebone

There are frequent services between Oxford (Main and Parkway) and London Marylebone. Oxford Parkway lies between Kidlington and Oxford beside the existing Water Eaton park-and-ride site, which has easy car access from Woodstock.

Getting to Woodstock from Oxford

Taxis are available at the railway station in Oxford, but there is also a frequent and convenient bus service from the station forecourt directly to Woodstock.

Stagecoach S3 service will show Woodstock, Charlbury or Chipping Norton on the front. You can find a timetable at www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables.

Oxford Bus Company operates its 500 service from Oxford Main station, via Oxford Parkway to/from Woodstock.

The bus stops are close by the Hensington Gate entrance to Blenheim Palace and in the centre of Woodstock itself close by the Marlborough Arms Hotel.

Just let the drivers know where you want to get off and they will be happy to keep you informed.

Services to/from Oxford Gloucester Green bus station and Central London, dropping off in various places in London.
The Oxford Bus Company service is the X90: x90.oxfordbus.co.uk.
The Stagecoach service is the Oxford Tube: www.oxfordtube.com.
Note: since Stagecoach also operates the S3 Woodstock to Oxford Service (see below), you can request a Tube Connector ticket providing free local transfer included in the Oxford Tube fare.

Also note: it's possible to purchase tickets by credit card at Gloucester Green and on most local services payments up to £30 can be made by contactless cards.

Woodstock To/From Oxford

Frequent Stagecoach S3 services leaving from Gloucester Green bus station will show Woodstock, Charlbury or Chipping Norton on the front. Stagecoach no. 7 is also available from Oxford Rail station to Woodstock. Oxford Bus Company operates its 500 service from Oxford City and Oxford Parkway to/from Woodstock.
